An ancient natural treasure

Eckart My guide was very knowledgeable about the ecosystems of this beautiful lake and how everything works together to make the beautiful colors and clarity of the water that you see. It is very special process and very rare as this is one of the only places in the world where you can see the stromatolites at work. The morning was beautiful and water, perfect. We saw many birds including the snail Kites and Limpkin. The area is very environmentally sensitive and Eckart took great care in treading lightly, not touching anything, not taking shells , no litter of any kind. He was safety conscious during the tour. The practices that he preformed during this tour should be a set standard for all tours so that this rare and beautiful waterway will stay healthy and alive as it is an ancient living organism to be treasured.

Despite slightly dreading getting up so early in the morning, this experience was well worth setting the alarm clock! Eckart was punctual, friendly and happy to share his considerable knowledge and enthusiasm for the lagoon and surrounding ecosystem. We booked late the evening before and he was accommodating, as well as patient with us notice SUPers. Only one of us fell off, and only once! Good value for money and a lovely way to see and understand a bit more about the lake. Highly recommended.
